An exquisite and highly collectible late Victorian celestial crescent moon brooch, crafted circa 1890.
This stunning piece features a graduated row of 11 authentic antique Ceylon moonstones, glowing with blue adularescence, set in an elegant hand-fabricated sterling silver gallery. The brooch fastens with its original hinged pin and open C-catch — correct for the period.
In Victorian symbolism the crescent moon represented new beginnings and femininity, making this a deeply romantic jewel as well as a collector’s piece.
Condition: Pre-owned, good antique condition. All 11 moonstones present with beautiful blue flash; pin is straight and the C-catch closes securely. Light wear consistent with age; no repairs noted.
