This ring began as a brass ring its owner loved too much to leave in brass. She took it to her jeweler and had it remade, faithfully, in solid 14K gold — and that is exactly what this is: a jeweler-made reproduction of an Art Nouveau angel ring, made to be worn and kept.

An angel stands at each shoulder, turned toward the stone. You can see the wings swept back at the sides and the small hands raised to the face — the details that made the original worth copying. Between them, a round emerald of about 6.4 mm sits high in a raised prong basket. The stone carries a dense, mossy garden inside it, the kind of included, organic interior emeralds are known for.

The gold is unmarked: there is no karat stamp and no maker's mark anywhere on the ring, and it tests as solid 14K. The casting is soft in the way of a piece cast from a beloved original rather than struck from a die — the angels' features are gentle, not crisp — and that softness is part of its character and is shown plainly in the photographs.
