A Zuni micro-inlay cuff bracelet in sterling silver - the galaxy design.
The rectangular panel is a night sky in miniature, inlaid stone to stone on a black jet ground: a turquoise planet rises at the base, a comet streaks across trailing turquoise, coral and shell, mother-of-pearl stars scatter the field, and a ringed planet and crescent moon are inlaid in opal. Micro-inlay of this fineness is Zuni lapidary work at its most exacting - dozens of individually cut pieces, fitted without gaps and polished flush.
The panel rides a split sterling shank with a twisted-rope centre wire. The cuff measures 6.75 inches as it sits and adjusts with care.
